☕What is "Cupping"?
"Cupping" is a standardized procedure used to evaluate the flavor and quality of coffee. Coffee is classified as specialty coffee when it receives a cupping score of 80 points or higher. Since taste is subjective, the scoring is broken down into various attributes. For instance, the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) scoring standards include fragrance, flavor, aftertaste, acidity, body, uniformity, clean cup, sweetness, defects, and overall score. These components collectively form the comprehensive quality assessment of the coffee.

📣What is "Body"?
#Body refers to the tactile sensation and thickness of coffee as it moves through the mouth, reflecting its smoothness, viscosity, and weight on the tongue. Common descriptors include round, silky, or smooth. Using milk and tea as an example, milk has a higher body because its smooth mouthfeel is greater than that of tea.

In fact, the level of body does not indicate quality. Judges first assess whether the coffee's intensity is High Body, Medium Body, or Low Body, and then further evaluate the refinement and balance of its texture.
